The federal riding of Saskatoon-Wanuskewin consists of the northwest quadrant of Saskatoon and extends north in the direction of Prince Albert and northwest in the direction of North Battleford (see the Elections Canada riding map). The population of our riding is 75,955 and the number of listed electors is 53,862.

The name Wanuskewin means “seeking peace of mind.” The Northern Plains Indians visited the Wanuskewin site on a regular basis over thousands of years. The protected valley where Opamihaw Creek meets the South Saskatchewan River was an ideal campsite, providing shelter from winter winds, and abundant supplies of food, plants, water, and wood. Wanuskewin is representative of the five Indian tribes of Saskatchewan: Nakota, Saulteaux, Cree, Dene, and Dakota.
